When will you arrive and how long will you stay?

When your labor starts, you will want to contact me via phone call so that I can make any arrangements in my schedule that are needed .  You or your support person will just want to keep me updated via text message as to how you are progressing, I will arrive once you are in active labor (around 6cm) and will stay until an hour or two after your baby is born to capture those first special moments with your new bundle of joy.

WHAT can I expect during my labor and birth photography?

When I photograph a birth I prefer to be inconspicuous and out of the way.  It is a special moment between you and your partner and I don't want my presence to take away from that.  I am just there to capture everything as it unfolds.  On occasion, I will adjust something for modesty, fix your hair if it gets a bit unruly and maybe ask to get a first family portrait.

What if I am having a c-section?

If you are planning to have a c-section you would just want to check with your doctor and anesthesiologist to be sure that they would allow a photographer in the OR during the procedure.  Many doctors have no issue with this.  If you have to have an unplanned c-section, there is a chance that they will not allow a photographer to be present due to the nature and urgency of the procedure.  This definitely doesn't mean you won't still get amazing images.  You would get all the special moments leading up to that point as well as the cherished moments immediately following your c-section when you and baby return to your hospital room.

What if we don't want the birth photographed but the first special couple hours of our baby's life?

No problem.  We offer a Fresh 48 option which is a 1-2 hour lifestyle session at your birth location within 48 hours after birth.

WHAT if you can't make it to my BIRTH?

In the event that you accidentally forget to call, there is inclement weather, I am sick, or you just have an extremely fast labor, your session fee can be transferred to a Fresh 48 or family session to be used anytime in the next 12 months.   Note that I will make every possible effort to be at your birth in a timely manner.

To book with us, just shoot us an email at brooke@brooketaylorstudios.com or give us a call at (425) 232-5432.  We will set up a time to meet in our Snohomish Studio to discuss your upcoming bundle of joy, what you are hoping to see in your birth images and how we can help to make this the most magical day of your life.
